Kathryn Humphries

Kathryn Humphries has sung across Canada and in Europe under the baton of conductors such as Mario Bernardi, Timothy Vernon, Raffi Armenian, and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.  Her solo engagements include Pacific Opera Victoria (school tour of Elijah’s Kite 2008), the Victoria Philharmonic Choir (Duruflé Requiem 2009), Allegra Chamber Music of Montréal (Brahms Zwei Gesänge, Op. 91, 2010), the Syriarte Festival (Barbe-Bleue 2013), the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn (Le Nozze di Figaro 2013), and Einklang Philharmonie für Alle (Le Nozze di Figaro 2014).

As a professional chorister with the Arnold Schönberg Chor, she appeared at the Salzburg Festival, the Stainz Festival, the Musikverein Vienna, and in several Opera productions at the Theater an der Wien. During her studies in Vocal Performance at Acadia University, Université de Montréal and Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, she participated in masterclasses with Measha Bruegger-Gosman, Sir Thomas Allen, and KS. Christa Ludwig.

Kathryn now teaches at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and St. Michaels University School.
